The list just goes on and on. The series was originally broadcast in 26 half hour episodes. These have been re-edited into 13 one hour episodes, each presented on a separate disk. There is a fourteenth disk containing the music form the series. There is also a nice booklet, and a map of Middle Earth, all presented in a nice, sturdy, booklet style case. The sound quality is excellent, and allows the wonderful sound design especially in the battle of Helm's Deep and the actors every nuance to really shine through.

This is wonderful to see here. I've owned the official CDs for many years, but they do not include the short introduction by Bilbo. Truly, the greatest Lord of the Rings adaption yes, even better than the one you're thinking of. Nearly 40 years ago - and I can still remember the excitement of listening each week, and trying to record it on cassettes! I was a student so I missed many episodes. I later bought the CD set and was finally able to listen to the whole series. My wife, who was unfamiliar with the books, loved it and later read the trilogy. This is the definitive dramatization of the trilogy, barring none. Thank you sharing for this splendid edition in its entirety. This is pristine quality, including introductory parts not available on many releases, along with the bonus disc of original music from the BBC presentation.

Truly well done—the best version of the BBC LoTR dramatization available on archive, with no compression artifact. Thanks to the generous uploader. It took some time and effort to do this right.
